batman: curse of the white knight #8

I think it’s an interesting direction—one that I hadn’t yet read in my time with comics. Oh, man. Curse of the White Knight has a lot to live up to. Some draggy parts: It might be the longest hero unmasking on record. I can’t ignore that Murphy’s Batman intentionally crosses lines that I think Batman never should, but I also can’t ignore that, as a finale for this eight-issue tale, this book is a fairly effective one. What I mean is this: not only am I okay with Murphy’s decision to reveal Bruce’s identity because of its lack of impact on central continuity; but also, I’m okay within the story. For fear of spoiling the delight that is Murphy’s Batverse, I’ll say this: if you enjoyed Murphy’s. Firstly, if you haven't read Batman: White Knight, definitely give it a read. It sees a world in which the Joker is cured and combines all the different takes and mythos of Batman into a solid story with beautiful artwork by Sean Gordon Murphy, who also writes it. Batman: Curse of the White Knight concludes by taking Batman places I would rather he not go; however, I can’t help but be impressed by the strength of … But he went into this encounter intent on killing Jean-Paul—he made that clear to Dick before driving off on his own. To the contrary, this builds on the greatness of White Knight and continues to shock and thrill. In this explosive sequel to Sean Murphy’s critically acclaimed blockbuster Batman: White Knight, the Joker recruits a savage partner to help him expose a shocking revelation about the Wayne family’s legacy and run Gotham into the ground. Everything about this world from its history to Sean's take on iconic Batman characters to especially the cars. We’d love your help. Some draggy parts: It might be the longest hero unmasking on record. Inspired by memories of Alfred, Freeze, and Gordon, it seems that Bruce turns back from his initial plan to kill Azrael, but then in a shocking moment, loses his cool and slashes his throat anyway. It's like we're all Joker asking where does he get those wonderful toys. He talks in a note near the end of the book about how he was influenced by Klaus Janson and there's a one-shot about Mr. Welcome back. If I had one complaint it is i want more!!!!! As Batman rushes to protect the city and his loved ones from this corrupt conspiracy, the mystery of his ancestry unravels and deals a devastating blow to the Dark Knight. After breaking into the industry at a young age, Sean Murphy made a name for himself in the world of indie comics before joining up with DC. While you might suspect the potential awards for Joker were long over, the Grammys have swooped in with two nominations for the soundtrack. I don’t think this reaches the heights the first book did, however it was still very well done. The narrative arc of the issue is well-done, too. That series is too right-wing for me, and I honestly cannot stand Frank Miller and his bigoted views. We see him firing said machine gun at Azrael. Bummed this wasn’t better, but I will see what’s next. I thought the ending kinda approached the original, and I wish irl billionaires would go the Wayne route, but regardless, the comic was still very enjoyable. I also think that, while it would disrupt things in a “normal” Batman comic, I would still be interested to see how such a thing would play out, and—most importantly—I think that Bruce doing this is consistent with who he is. Collects Batman: Curse of the White Knight issues #1-8 and Batman: White Knight Presents Von Freeze #1, I like reading a writer's take on Batman that is condensed into its own universe. I also have to say that I am particularly partial to the Batman: TAS inspiration that seems to be primary between the two books. This kind of book is why a fan like me stays in love with Batman for a lifetime. Did you read the first one in the series? (These books are worth the price just to see Murphy's recreations of some of the most famous Batmobiles to burn rubber on the silver screen!) Azrael is reimagined as the anti-Batman. This was great. Just a moment while we sign you in to your Goodreads account. I said that, given the Elseworlds context, I was okay with it.
